The Hanover Insurance Group, Inc. Announces Resignation of Edward J. Parry III, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

WORCESTER, Mass., Feb. 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Hanover Insurance Group, Inc. (NYSE: THG) announced today that Edward J. Parry III, The Hanover's executive vice president and chief financial officer has resigned his positions and plans to leave the company, effective June 15, 2007. A search for his successor is underway.

Parry joined the company as a merger and acquisition specialist in 1992 and has served as chief financial officer since 1996. The Technology, Investments and Claims departments and the Life Company segment report to him and he is a director of the company.

Parry will serve as a director of the company through the end of his term, expiring May 15, 2007, and will not stand for re-election.
