The Hanover Insurance Group, Inc. Increases Quarterly Dividend By 10 Percent, Sets Annual Meeting Date

WORCESTER, Mass., March 1, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Hanover Insurance Group, Inc. (NYSE: THG) announced today that its board of directors declared a quarterly dividend of 27.5 cents($0.275) per share on the issued and outstanding common stock of the company, payable March 29, 2011, to shareholders of record at the close of business on March 15, 2011. This dividend represents a 10 percent increase over the quarterly dividend of 25 cents($0.25) per share paid in 2010.

In addition, the board fixed May 17, 2011 as the date for the 2011 annual meeting of shareholders, and March 23, 2011 as the record date for determining the shareholders of the company entitled to vote at the annual meeting.
